Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.

PAX at Wattawa Heights Public School
At Wattawa Heights Public School, we are committed to creating a safe, supportive and positive learning environment where every child can thrive. One of the ways we do this is through the PAX Good Behaviour Game (PAX GBG), an evidence-based program used in classrooms across our school.
PAX stands for Peace, Productivity, Health and Happiness. Through simple, engaging strategies and games, students learn important life skills such as self-regulation, teamwork, kindness and making positive choices. These skills help children succeed not only at school, but also at home and in the wider community.
What does PAX help students develop?
- Peace
Creating calm, respectful classrooms where everyone feels safe, valued and included.
- Productivity
Building focus, independence and positive learning habits so students can achieve their best.
- Health
Supporting emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive decision-making.
- Happiness
Strengthening friendships, cooperation and a sense of belonging within our school community.
Families may hear their children talking about PAX strategies or using PAX language at home. By working together, we can reinforce these positive behaviours and help our students grow into responsible, resilient and respectful learners.
We are proud to be a PAX school and to provide our students with the skills they need to be successful both now and in the future.
